A world that only cares about money, Enslaving its people, and violence, such a great place to live
Topic Response: Internet Blackout 2012

When I heard about this bill, I went straight to my laptop and typed this out for all the people I know on facebook to learn what this could lead too, then I decided to publish it here for the world to see.

If the anti piracy law passed we will have no freedom to learn the knowledge we all crave.
If it is passed, the world will live in a world akin to George Orwell's  1984, where those with the powers that be control what we know, and in a few decade they can change our history just like that, so the future generation wouldn't know the real history because we all know that history is written by the winners...  and if this is passed, then the brainwashers are the winners. The future generation wouldn't know truth from fiction because they wouldn't have any access to this fabulous range of knowledge we can research on the Internet.

If you think it doesn't seem right, you are correct it isn't right. It will affect everyone, no porn, no wikipedia, no online sharing, no online games and most of all no freedom or freedom of speech which I believe is the first amendment in America, kind of ironic.

If you live in a country outside of America and feel protected from this because you're from a country out of the U.S., you will not be protected because it will affect the whole internet, it will affect each and everyone of you.
For example I am a deaf male and if I find a DVD that looks entertaining I will read the back and look for subtitles, however not all DVDs have subtitles or some may claim they do have it but they don't, I cannot watch whichever film I want to watch unlike a hearing person. However if I look online afterward for the film on a torrent site, I then look for the subtitles online and voila there they are, the people who make subtitles online for downloaded films and such do not get paid for it unlike the person a film company hired to do it. These independent people do not see a return on the time taken of their lives that they spend making these subtitles.

So this law would prevent disabled people to have freedom and the right to watch what they want, this law would prevent students from learning, this law would prevent you from living in a world with freedom.

It seems to me that the common man would make a better politician than anyone we have in our governments, they would make a better prime minister or president than everyone who has been in charge for the past two decade.
It seems that if you study politics, you end up becoming dumbed down, and it seems that studying politics robbed you of your belief in free will and your common sense. So the question that remains is how can someone sit by and watch this happening without trying to stop. If you are with me spread this message around, if your not with me then say goodbye to your freedom.

So an author who spend 3-5 years writing a book should only have the rights for the first 3-5 years, and after that Google can scan it and make a fortune from selling ads with it? And not have to share any of that profit cos the author had their change. Great plan. Unforunately for people like the indie film industry, they make most of their money from DVD rentals over time, for which we spend our pay day loans UK, very little up front. Oh, sorry I should say they use to make their money from rentals, now people go to YouTube. Oh did I say indie film industry, how silly, there are dead already. Thats why people are proposing this bill. Its not about your video in the pub, its about people making advertising material with music, getting thousands of view and not paying the copyright holder. YouTube is a great example as Google has made no attmept to limit copyrighted material on the site. Copyright holders are getting screwed. They fight back by making the terms of use more restrictive. The terms of use are broken, sure, but so is Google being allowed to make hoards of cash off illegal content.
