You Can Lead a Horse to Water, But Do You Really Want To?

To trust the left with instituting any law or judicial edict related to religion, sound morals or the difference between good and evil, is to invite disaster and manipulation. Why, the right might just as well demand that Satan polish that apple he’s about to give Eve – it makes as much sense!

I write this not on behalf of, nor against, either side in the issue of ID versus Evolution. God knows (ooops!) that issue has consumed far too many hours of cyberspace already (not to mention at this blog). For purposes of this post, I stand temporarily neutral on it (ouch, that’s tough to do) but neutral it is, for I have bigger fish to fry.

I had always opposed the right’s misguided demands that morality or traditional values be taught in public schools that are essentially controlled by the amoral, often immoral, and traditional value-less left.

I have personally watched (and been repulsed) as they violated our trust with the sex education of our once innocent .

Why are well-intentioned people on the right so insistent upon trusting the left with enforcing laws instituted by the right? Haven’t they yet learned that the left has a commitment to deception and distortion as a major instrument in the war over minds and souls? Would they play a game, expecting fairness from the umpires if they all came from the opponent’s home town and showed up for the big game wearing the other team’s colors on their jerseys?

Would they expect fairness in letting Bill Clinton describe his opponent’s views and expect truth to prevail? Can’t you just imagine that gleam in his eye as he starts with one of his well honed lines such as "I have to be honest with you, my fellow Americans,…”? From there on, it is guaranteed to rush downhill, into any number of convoluted styles of camouflage, sabotage, or more historically prevalent, just outright lying.

Why should the right naively assume sudden, extra-worldly, conversion miracles by the left?

Simple answer: they shouldn’t!

So what should they do? The choices are mostly perseverance, perseverance, perseverance! Just like the solution to Iraq is, above all, don’t give up – so is it with defeating those on the left, who know and abuse human weakness, who prey upon it. We need to exert self-discipline in developing perseverance in reform, perseverance in demanding fairness, perseverance in balance, in the nation’s schools — schools that should belong neither to the right or the left, but to America’s innocent and her best interests.

Any reform move needs to be aimed first at giving politics and political issues a fair shake. These issues need to be dealt with by emerging young people. They need an impartial or at least a fair exposure to biases of both the left and the right. That means we need to remove the credentialing of educators from out of the gnarly grasps of the left. We need to shun those depositories of the left that publish and control the texts that warp, mislead and control innocent minds.

A few exposé-oriented congressional investigations might start the ball rolling, but keep it away from our senators please.

The right needs strong legislation that prevents unions such as the NEA from influencing curriculua, etc., and fairness in teacher mailbox access, as a start!

The list of what needs to be done is as lengthy as the left's infiltration of our American educational institution has been thorough and well-considered. It will take time to exorcize its evil, but exorcize it we must. One thing for certain though, is that we need institute no more silly laws to be interpreted by the very people that we created the laws to counter in the first place!

Above all, we must never require, never allow, never encourage the wrong people to lead our trusty and thirsty horses to the educational water trough; for we have seen the poison they have put in it!
